The only issue I have with your theory is that the 360 xkey also either had blank images or rendered images in the beginning, and not the actual finished product. Just because there is no picture available does not mean it does not exist. I believe the device is very much real, but if it actually makes it to consumers and is useful well that is a different story
Edit: Now we are getting into that territory of discussion and not a prerelease facts thread. If it turns out to be fake I will bug you or another mod to close it, but I would like to stick to posting just facts if we could.  My fault as well as anyone Else's because just by making this post I am guilty of it as well.
