I don't know who the **** you are calling a fool, but I am pretty sure I have way more knowledge in this type of stuff than you do. You want USB 3.0 support. You claim you have it on your little xkey. Well first of let me start by explaining how fast every method really is and then you tell me is USB 3.0 is really needed jackass.
Your 360 DVD drive is a DL DVD rom (as almost everyone knows). This drive has an average maximum transfer rate of 15.85 MBps. The PS3's Blu Ray drive has a transfer rate of 9 MBps. Ok so now we all know that HDD loading is faster but how much good will it do a smart guy like you? Well USB transfer rates are 12 mbps for USB 1.1, USB 2.0 has a maximum of 480 mbps (maximum throughput is 35 MBps), and USB 3.0 can actually perform up to 5 gbps (625 MBps). Now I listed maximum speeds which you are very unlikely to ever see. I can see why you have such a hard on for USB 3.0.
Now the issue I have with this whole scenario is why would you want to spend more for a USB 3.0 compliant HDD when USB 2.0 drives are cheaper, and provide more than enough speed? I guess when the money you spend belongs to mommy and daddy then you really don't look for the best bang for buck type of deal. USB 2.0 provides almost 4 times the transfer rate of the BD drive alone, yet you want to cry about USB 3.0. Just because you spent more of mommy and daddy's money then you had to for USB 3.0 doesn't mean that you needed to or even should have.
Now since you know so much about 360 (you keep mentioning it even though this is a PS3 related device discussion) then you would know about the option Microsoft added a while back that lets you cache an entire game to your HDD. Now that is sata which is faster than the 360 disc drive. Now did you know that some games have stability issues when this feature is used? Don't believe me? Go look it up for yourself. So you want to throw USB 3.0 into the mix. Well how much faster are your load times really? I almost bet you try and come up with some bull**** story to tell us but truth be told your load times are a second or two faster at best. So really high transfer rates cause issues with some games when using HDD, but you want to go buy the fastest USB drive you can buy with your parents money so that you can really enjoy stability issues with some of your games, and an entire 2 seconds in faster loading. Just because the drive is capable of such high speeds doesn't mean you will ever get to take advantage of them. You have fun with that while I use a cheaper USB drive that is faster than the optical drive, yet more stable, and that I bought with my own money.

Well there is a simple answer....because IT ISN'T NEEDED FOR THE DEVICE TO RUN AS INTENDED. So they are rquired to put in a more expensive USB controller because you demand it? Do you actually think USB 2.0 is going to give you worse performance than the optical drive? Is more money really worth 2 seconds faster than USB 2.0 which is still faster than the native optical drive? You know what.....
You have fun with your xkey and USB 3.0 drive. I will have fun with my MFW PS3, Jtag 360, tri nand RGH slim 360, and the many other hacked consoles I have around my house. At least with my devices I can enjoy homebrew, and appreciate user generated content made free for the underground console communities instead of only supporting piracy and ripping off devs that put in a lot of time for their work. Before you say it yes I have pirated, but there are things I appreciate more than piracy. You only care about piracy because if you gave 2 ****s about homebrew, or the community then you would have saved yourself some money and just RGHed your box, but money isn't an issue when you are spending money earned from prostitution. At least if I pirate something I go out and buy it...always have, always will. You have a warez only box and probably don't buy games because you are spending your money on unnecessary **** LIKE USB 3.0!!!!!
