I can say with 110% positivity that it worked for me, I was scared too but without risk there is no reward.

How I updated : recovery menu > 4.21-1.09cfw rogero
Firmware (now) - 4.21-1.09 Rogero
Been on it since he posted it this afternoon and playing borderlands 2. All previous backups with the eboot fixes work 100% for me. Havnt tried my psn games though. I don't see those being a problem though ^_^
Basically it all depends on your ps3 model how you should do it, but if your on the same rebug I was, the way I did it should work for you ^_^
