On mine the cable wouldn't go in properly as it came into contact with the reset switch on the flasher control. Had to cut away some rubber on the e-sata cable connector.

Another thing to check is if the E3 is seated to the PS3 motherboards hard drive port properly.
e-sata cable run good..... is not this the problem ;(

Led blue okay on e3 flasher, green led on ps3 but no load HDD and no video.
