You do not need to remarry drives in order to kick out of the boot loop. If you have a spare drive hook it up to get you out of the loop (no it doesn't have to be married) This will get you out of the update loop but you will be unable to marry another drive seeing as the update attempting to flash itself is 3.56
Still you will not be able to play any disc based game and if you remove the spare drive all of your PSN titles will just black screen. I would tuck it away somewhere and hope that one day there is a higher firmware hack available
Sucks that you have to finish installing 3.56 with all the advancements in the scene. 3.55 is the place to be but it is too late for you to think about that now.
