Im a nood at playstation modding as well and have had a modded 360 for a while now and been modding since my original xbox. I'm also a computer engineer so can understand most speak.

I have gone to the link you sent and it has options for if I want to downgrade or upgrade but doesn't mention anything about if your box is not currently modded like mine.

I have a vanilla ps3 slim 320gb and running 4.30. Are there any basic guides or tips you can give me so I can get it to a stage where I can play backed up games off the HDD.

Thanks for any assistance and im not trolling just wanting to learn.
