Oh, also... should I just try to flash the 4.30 Rogero again or do you think I'll need to put on the 3.55 again and then upgrade to the 4.30.

Okay, just an update.. I followed these instructions and I seem to be making progress...

There is a section if you scroll down that says (Changing/Upgrading HDD while on Rogero CFW 4.30).
Was able to reformat the drive using this method and I'm currently on 3.55 in the process of flashing 3.7, and then hopefully to 4.30 from there.
sigh, what a long process but it will be all worth it if it works.
