Man, i can't tell you about developing and that stuff for PS3, but, for what i've heard and read on producers interviews and etc, it's complete different develop a game for the PS3 and X-box 360 systems, like a program to linux and windows, you know?
We can take as examples ported games, from one plataform to another, the port one it's always the one that get the bugs. One game that i've played and see that for myself is Warriors Orochi 2, a game that was originally developed for sony system and ported to X-box, it had a lot of slowdown. Even thought it's a weak game for the current hardware, the PS3 and Ps2 versions don't had any framerate problem, while the X-box had a ridiculous slowdown performance. The same goes on Bayonetta graphic bugs on PS3 vers, and etc.
So, what i can tell you is that, yes, maybe there is a way to do what you think, but it's like take something, and remake it(or adapt it) to run in another system. Maybe in the future(who seems near.) we can do whatever we want for the PS3(like we saw on games totally hacked for PS2), but for now, i think it's too difficult.
Anyway, good luck!
