All you have to do is upload your game save and say what cheats you want.
Your PS3 doesn't need CFW on it for the cheats to work. Game Genie mods your game save so your PS3 can be on any firmware CFW or not.
So if you want cheats for your game take a look at what games Game Genie can mod.
