If the code was released for free you wouldn't need to buy a thing and certainly won't need to build a usb stick from scratch ( ). The code could be easily implemented into cfw because all the cobra dongle does is validate the cobra firmware.
Cobra doesn't require the hardware either. Like it has been mentioned a million times before, all the Cobra dongle does is validate the Cobra CFW just like True Blue validates True Blue CFW.

Are you stupid?
No one is talking about Cobra USB dongle.
The guy said even if the code was released you'd still need to buy the circuit board & do all the soldering etc and you came back with this reply?
He was talking about the ODE.
If the code for how to make the ODE was released, you'd still need to buy everything required & make it yourself. You can't make a software solution for this because you need a circuit board between the motherboard & the blu ray drive. This circuit board fakes the responces back to the PS3 that the blu ray drive would give, it basically fools the PS3, it makes the PS3 think the blu ray drive is responding when really it isn't & in fact the game is being loaded from a USB drive.
Everybody already knows the cobra dongle isn't needed & all the functions can be done in CFW. You do realise the ODE and the dongle are different products right?
