he mean that your dump gotta be valid before downgrade if not your ps3 will brick permanent, it's not easy than you thought to downgrade because there's ways to brick your ps3 also the e3 clip quality is so poor, i have bought one myself and after this thing become paper nothing less, why dont you buy the e3 card reader its kindda cheap and it work great with the downgrading
