Same think was happened to me yesterday when I try to downgrade slim model cech 2004a, power off console, cut off power cable, connect rgb cable, turn off hdmi, power on console and hold power button untill you hear 1 beep then picture will show on your screen, if picture dont show, your HDD dont have activity. (Thats was my problem, first time was HDD, second was HDMI) you even dont need to plug your HDD to E-SATA station just plug it in your PS3 MODBO and E3 connect just with E3 ribbon, it would be good couse E3 have own power via NOR chip and clip. Try and see what happen I hope it will help you.

Dude....I just took out the whole thing. Still NO VIDEO. So maybe somehow the video chip got mucked up?? I mean...it was working before then....BAMMM..no video. And now that I took out the E3...still no video?? I didnt flash anything and I all I did was update E3 and backup my BIOS.
