This isn't posted directly towards you but in part because I have seen a lot of misinformed posts like this one on this thread. I'm not going to claim that smoking anything is absolutely healthy. What I can say is that smoking marijuana doesn't make you retarded. In fact, it's recently been scientifically proven that it doesn't even kill brain cells. It's also been scientifically proven that holding your breath kills more brain cells than marijuana usage does. Of course, there were government findings that established this long ago but they were buried amongst propaganda and fear. The government has known since 1974 that it helps to cure cancer. They chose to cover it up in favor of funding from big pharmaceutical companies. With two states now making marijuana legal in the United States a lot of new scientific information is now being released to the public.

Even more interesting is the reason why marijuana was made illegal in the first place and what led up to it. Surprise, surpise it was politically, racially, and financially motivated.

Whilst I think pot should be legal and especially compared to alcohol its nothing. I do think it makes you dumber.
You can pull your scientific links out all day but I smoked everyday for 16 yrs (3gm a day at my worst, .5gm a day at best)
Since Ive stopped smoking my short term memory has improved 10fold and my clumsiness and dopey decision making has also improved noticeably.
Obviously like drinking, if done in moderation it will have little to no effect but done regularly or excessively it will most certainly have ill effects.
I will say that none of the effects I felt have carried on once the THC left my system.. it just got to a stage for me where my brain felt clouded 24/7.
I needed to be a better father for my boys and I most certainly am since stopping!
