Unfortunately gun laws wouldnt help over there now.. the place is too far gone with way too many ridiculous firearms in circulation.

Im glad I live in Australia and Im happy with the strict gun laws that were put in place after the Port Arthur massacre https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_A...28Australia%29

A quick read of the effect tightened gun laws have had on Australia
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...-in-australia/

As far as Im concerned, Police, Farmers & people who participate in gun sports need guns and thats it.
Sure having a gun to protect yourself from a criminal is handy and sometimes lifesaving but a gun can also turn a normal person and situation into something it would never have been without a gun.

It does also come down to the people themselves.. (generalising) Americans by nature are a paranoid country who thinks everyone is out to get them.. even themselves

BTW Ive fired plenty of guns on farms and actually enjoy it, I own a crossbow and REALLY love that.
Id have no problem if laws meant I couldnt own that anymore though
