We don't have to destroy or take people's property away from them.. Guns can still be manufactured and the govt wont be breaking the 2nd amendment but what can be done is to cease the ammunition industry from continuing to produce ammo. Nothing in the 2nd amendment or the constitution to my knowledge says anything about ceasing the production and sales of firearm ammunition.... W/O ammo guns are useless kind of like c4 w/o a remote detonator... To people who use the legality argument of banning as ineffective thats like telling a child molester/murder/rapist what they did is ok because even though its against the law they found ways to break it. So what im getting @ is that our sense of morality and values need to be on the same page so that when we create laws what is legal is morally correct and what is illegal is morally inexcusable.... We might as well legalize everything that is wrong because the law doesn't deter those that break it
I understand my statement was rash, but think about it. So we get rid of all guns because there primary use is for killing someone. Now some crazy doesn't have that to help him slaughter a ton of people. So he just goes around with this chainsaw which is primarily for cutting trees. If some guy came at you with a chainsaw, and you had no gun, what would you do? Punch him to death? Maybe try to get close enough to stab him? Or hope someone calls the police because they are the only person aloud to have guns now that we banned them? Don't know about where you live, but in my area....by the time the cops got there, you could fill a trash dumpster with body parts from the chainsaw crazed man. Sorry, I don't trust none but me to protect my family
I didnt find your statement to be rash... and i said guns are for killing.... I fully understand that it takes a person to commit the act of murder but take away the tools that are primarily engineered with said purpose and their ability to easily pull off these kind of massacres would be greatly reduced... You pose to me a good scenario and all i can say to you is that I hope I would never have to face something of that magnitude but what if i had a gun on me and still failed to pull the trigger? or was hacked up from behind.... now the psycho would have access to my gun and would probably try 2 use it to further his/her bloodthirsty rampage.
