PS2 pretty much gave you no reason to own another console. You would really own the Xbox for Halo 2/Xbox Live and a Gamecube for typical Nintendo exclusives. PS2 had all the good multiplatform games and all the great exclusives and as far as consoles go was the best platform to play GTA on.

I think the multiplats were better on the gc/xbox but some ps2 exclusives like MGS3 Snake Eater gave me reason to own a ps2
