3k models come out of factory service on a minimum >3.56 firmware, so therefore they cannot even be flashed with a hardware flasher to 3.55<. If you do try, you'll only receive a PS3, blank screen and bricked.
If your still intent on playing games on the external drive through multiman, then sell you 320gb, and buy a 2k slim model or a phat.
