i havent come across a single beep and shut down before
if its been opened in the past then i suppose its possible the ribon connector for the power eject board is not in propperly and vibration from the bdvd drive is enough to move this cable just enough to short the power traces and so the ps3 thinks the power button has been pressed.

if its on cfw and this is a back up game then it could be anything

with it working anyway for a while then it should be fixable.

first thing i'd do is
strip it.
clean it up propperly.
change the heat transfer paste
and carefully build it back up checking every connector as i went for anything faulty.

if it is just a loose connector then cleaning and re-building could solve it.

does it do the same fault while watching a dvd?
