There should only be a ribbon wire or two that runs under the drive. See the xbox drive is like a pc drive you got the sata cable and the power cable behind it. Where the ps3 uses ribbon cables mostly under it so its harder to show.
do the ones for xbox connect via the usb aswell?
how does this work do you have to solder to the usb port inside the console?
as it shows the controller connected to it.
or is that just to get power to it?
thats if the xbox one connects the same.

If its like the xbox it should be all plug and play other then the programming of it. Now the usb should only be fore power. I know this is a prototype and they are using the ext usb for power they may have found a better way to get power for the final 3k3y. What should be needed to hook up is
1. source of power
2. wire from drive to chip then to MB
3. controller its how you pick the game you want to play
4. ext HDD
3 and 4 should be in the same wire but i wont know to i see it.
no i mean if this has to sit between the bdvd drive board and the ps3 main board then anyone who has a none downgradeable console then they also have a console where the bdvd board is intergrated into the mainboard.
so they cannot use this product (thats IF a way to get the key on ofw comes out)

Well C4eva has plan to see what he can do with the ps3 drive. Hes a firmware master everyone should get his burnermax software. Instead of getting 7.96GB of room on a DL DVD you get 8.13 GB of room off the same DL DVD. His site is c4evaspeaks.com. I believe if anyone can get the key on OFW he can. As far as the intergrated into the mainboard you know if there is a will there is a way. On the new xbox drive you can read the drive but you cant write to them. So team team-xecuter just made a new board for the drives. Just google C4E & Team Xecuter Presents LT Ultimate 1532 Demo.
if you have a downgrade compatable console then you can use this product but as you have to downgrade to get the key then you have to buy a flasher or pay someone to downgrade you so you may aswell put cfw on and save yourself the price of this product.

The only people getting ban with the 360key is the ones playing game early right now. Same with the flashed dvd drives ( come on halo 4 out 1 mouth early. REALLY!!!! Who do you think really let that game slip out. HAMMER TIME)
there is a nor chip on the drive board
sony can detect the chip info so if a different one is used on the 3k3y board (make) or a different size (part number will be different) or both. to what the ps3 was shipped with then sony can detect this and block you.

If its like the 360key it has a pass threw mode that works like a wingman ( if anyone dont know what a wingman is google it). It should let all info pass right threw then when it comes to the game read part of it the wingman steps in and shows the drive key as the 3k3y puts the game out. And we all know how great sony is with doing security. Can i get a 4 anyone.
like with the E3 flasher
you need to have cfw on the E3 flasher's nor and ofw on the ps3's nor as it uses a different nor chip to most ps3's and this way offers better protection when online with ofw

time and effort to put this on then take it off
then the price of the 3k3y product
then a second hdd
time and effort to fit this
i think most ppl will go for the cheeper option of cfw.

i think this product will only do well if downgraders change to do ps3's with the 3k3y pre-built into them.

Now im not saying im for it but seeing i work on local game systems I see alot of this stuff.
As for the other part you put in your post after i quoted it. I make $40-$50( +parts if they want to keep the flasher) just for opening the case thats still cheaper then the others around me that do it. I do not promote no product. Its the same to me either way. So CFW is faster and that = more money per hour. But on the same note dont judge this book by the cover. I have downgraded a few systems (with your guild) at no cost just cause i knew they could not afford it. But i already got one guy that called and said that he wants the 3k3y just as soon as it comes out and when it comes out he'll pull up in his caddy on whatever size rims with bills that most of the time (he likes to tinker with stuff he should not be playing with) he has to go break to pay me. What am i to do tell him now? Come on baby needs a new pair of shoes.
