It should only have to use the laser wire cause thats the data flow wire. It will tell the ps3 its readding a disc even if there aint one in the drive. Most all drives flash the laser a few time to tell if a disc is in the tray from that point the key is telling it there is a disc. But until i see one for real. From my under standing the only reason you need the drive key to tell your drive how to encrypt the game data so your MB can unencrypt it. Kind like how the HDDs are where you cant put it in another system and play it.
so there will be a bit of case modding to get the cable out of the system.
no supprise hopefully this will come out of the back ot through the vents to reduce damage.

The case mod is all up to how you want to do it with the wire they provide. Running it back threw the fan should be fine. Like i said it hard to tell till i see one.

That is his site. He got it set to auto update the site with what he post when he post in irc. That way instead of posting a link to new firmware on irc and his site it just does it for him. The bad thing about that set up is if he tells someone hi in irc it also goes on the site.
real shame this can happen as buying broken consoles to repair and sell on is affected by this.
you spend all that time fixing them only to find there usless now there banned aswell
(as you can tell no simpathy from me to the dumb ass who prev owned these console's as it was there dumb idea to play online with cfw / pirate games in the first place)

erm xbox 360 security was so good it was hacked in months from reliese ps3 took a few years.
so yes sony has good security

Remember when failoverflow released to the world they hacked the ps3 and found a security problem with the RNG it always put out the same number they used a 4 as the example of what was going on with the RNG. As for it taking a few years to hack it. Hackers did not need to hack the PS3 as you could use linux on it. They only wanted to hack it after they took it away.
E3 will now make a downgrading BD EMU thats how. DAMN YOU

there seems to be more and more ppl coming over from that scene to this?
or is the ps3 scene now making alot of noise with the new keys leak that its getting noticed more?

The problem in the xbox scene is their is nothing is going on. C4eva has mastered the firmware of the xbox drive so it appears. They have hacked the unhackable xbox drives with just one board. They have got the reset glitch to work on all the MBs now i think( dont really keep up with it) so its just got kinda stall over there. Where here were just still learning and still got alot to do. Also in the xbox scene the devs get along better and share more info and stuff gets done faster.. But in the ps3 scene more devs like to thing there **** dont stink.
