I am new to this forum and have come here to make my PS3 more "usable"
Hope you guys can help me.
My PS3 is slim model 320 GB and the serial number is 03-27456769-5703531-CECH-2503B. I would like to jailbreak my PS3 so I can enjoy playing back up games and playing my ripped blu ray isos.
I have been reading several articles that are contradictory before stumbling on this site. Now I have a fair idea of the jail break process.
1. The firmware must be 3.55 or lesser to enable a direct software jb. (Unfortunately I am not)
2. If I have firmware > 3.55 (mine is on 4.11) I need to use the PS3 Minimum version checker to find out if my PS3 is compatible.
I checked with this and it says I can run 3.40 or any higher firmware. So that is good news.
3. I need to do flashing using E3 or other method that involves soldering and quite a few hardware mods.
Now this is the area I am not very comfortable with. I am quite good with Software but have never attempted anything adventurous with the hardware. I understand this is a one time job and then all I would need is software hacks.
So I am wondering if I could get this done at any places with out bricking my PS3. I am in Woking, UK if that helps.
Also, I can't seem to find the E3 mod kit any where. Can you point me to any legitimate site that sells it in UK although as I said I would want to do this only if I can't get the hardware mod done by some experienced guy.
