Hows it BAD if you never new it could do it. It would be a bonus to see a port that had ram expansion(Aka like say the Amiga did), it worked for the Amiga back in them days, why not now. I think it's doable.
Easy all games could be made with say 16Gb in mind then scale back games for the first 4 years so they use 8Gb(Launch spec) then on the 5th year release 8Gb ram pack(Cheap ugrade without buying full console and loosing game library).
But what if all games were backward compatible with ram pack, but looked better with hi res textures/aa applied via menu(surely that would be an incentive).
Bit like what Sony did with the PSP, when they underclocked the use of the CPU, then unlocked CPU later giving the Devs more power to play with.
