So I was trying to unbrick my ps3 slim using a valid backup. The ps3 kept turning off so I soldered a wire from SBE to nor tristate and that kept it from shutting down. Next I proceeded to flash a patched dump in flash fun mode (10000000) and once that completed, I changed the e3 flasher setting to (00000001) and flashed the downgrade.bin file. Everything completes without any errors so I manually shutdown the system and pull the power. The problem starts when I try to put the system into FSM with my e3 card reader, instead of automatically shutting down, it just hangs there. I know there is power going to the USB ports because the led on the thumbdrive is flashing. I've tried this process multiple times but there was one time where I was able to successfully flash patched backup, flash downgrade.bin, enter FSM, flash rogero 3.7 pup, and exit FSM (system automatically shuts down) but when I power the system back up, I get all the symptoms of glod...

Here is where everything gets even more confusing... After several more tries at unbricking, I was finally able to get the system to boot into xmb, dehash, install rebug 4.21, multiman, etc... Rebooted the system several times and everything was perfectly fine. I have removed the SBE to tristate wire and e3 flasher at this point. Since everything was working fine, I shut it down and put everything back together. Press the power button and again no video output, controllers won't sync, limited hdd activity. Its as if the system is stuck in tristate mode. So next I take everything apart again but this time I only attach the heatsink clamps, psu, bluray and for some reason everything is back to normal...Upon further diagnosing, I found that putting pressure near the top half (gpu area) of the motherboard while the system is on causes the system to hang with artefacts on the screen. This problem has now escalated to the point where again there is no video output, solid green light, limited hdd activity, etc... even with the system semi assembled.

Sorry for the long post as I am tired and confused as hell at this point... If anyone can shed some light on this problem that would be greatly appreciated.
Why are you flashing a patched dump, and then flashing the e3_downgrade.bin? It is one or the other, not both!!!
