Granted, I haven't played the game yet so I can't judge the entire game, but I have gotten my hands on the demo of the game and it just feels off.

Having Raiden transform himself back into a cyborg ninja after finally having settled down with his family in MGS4 just feels wrong. I can't really see his character making that dramatic a change, I believe that the game would have been better if they had stuck with the story of what happened to Raiden between MGS2 and MGS4.

Also, the gameplay doesn't complement the story of the game; we have a cyborg 'ninja' or sorts with a knife that can cut as good as anything; only drawback here being that you are only allowed to slice through a set amount of things ( This really breaks 'immersion' ). For example, it is just weird that you have to unleash an entire combo on a Gecko's leg in order to damage it in Rising when you have seen Raiden slice through those things like a hot knife through butter in MGS4...
Conceptually, that 'slice anything' mechanic has been flawed from the get-go and it was quite clear that it wouldn't jive with any sort of story, but they stuck with it and this is what we get...

tl:dr I wish kojima would have taken control of this game
He had control over the content. He choose to give the chance to platinum.
Think he is working on ground zeroes and the new engine.

Not easy task for a guy like Kojima.
