if you have anything small that needs 12V dc to work, (like a 12V led) you can use that as a ghetto meter.

at the moment i am not so sure about the ghetto fix i told you, my idea was to take the 12V from the fan wire, but as you can see in the schematic below, there's a small component (FB4001) that passes the 12V through.
i don't know if it can handle the extra current, and i don't want you to end up with a dead fan also.

the problem is any other solution would be dissasembling the board or the psu and solder a wire to the right point.
