I guess the obvious answer to your question is to say that your crystal ball is as clear as mine!
Cause who wants to spend 80 for something that will require taking my ps3 apart. Is there anyway I can jailbreak or downgrade easier?

Nope! Have to do as your research has told you: Spend 80, get hardware, take PS3 apart SOLDER to PS3 etc. etc.
Or shouldi just wait until a CFW come out so I can jb via USB
