If you are referring to the open source libraries and compiler functions then obviously that is a different story entirely. Without those every dev would be writing in machine code. They are made by people who want it to be free so that it will help programmers. That is completely different to people literally copying, pasting and adding a very small tweak here and there for it to work with their hardware device they intend to sell.

They "mess" with the DRM code as you say (I assume you mean the FW on a ps3) and they give it for free. If they were like Cobra, they would mess with it and make a dongle for you to buy. That is what we are trying to get into your head. They are cracking someone elses DRM, then adding there own DRM (reDRM) and selling it. If you cant see how that is different, then I cant help you.

I think you need to seriously do some research about things you say in future. Start by learning the difference between DRM and reDRM.
