this is not the same as forced updates.....
sony forced updates on people at first saying it was not required, but eventually new games stopped working.
thats not the case here.... your games keep working, you just don't get new multiman features. not the same thing.
a better comparison is (fictional situation) if sony released something like playstation home and everything else works but if you want to use playstation home then you need to update the FW.
the main features of multiman that people already have are still working and they arent going to just break magically. so don't update and keep the features you have if you use multiman.
also it's simply not true that any good dev keeps support for older stuff. this is the reason there arent a whole lot of people using windows 95, 98, and even XP anymore... if you consider microsoft a decent dev. ? .... and game companies are making new games in 2013 but they are still going to support your 4MB ATI Rage Pro graphics card.... not really. at some point EVERY decent dev needs to decide where to draw the line. maybe in this case it's too soon? I don't know... 2 years ? is that too soon ?
i read 18 pages of this thread and not a single person had a real reason for staying on that old of a FW version... yeah, you don't have to update... but the sony forced updates actually made you lose something. in this case, you are only gaining as long as you only update to 4.21, and now that MM says it will support 4.21 (as posted a few pages back)... what is there to complain about?
really it's like saying that your gmail won't load properly on netscape navigator
