BlueTooth/Wi-Fi chip faulty in PS3 Slim

It is as the title says. I've tried everything but the bluetooth/wi-fi is intermitent and disconnects often. I have better success when plugged in with USB but it still disconnects.

Is there anyone who has replaced the chip on a slim system? I haven't opened it up yet but I understand the antenna may be whats wrong.

I imagine this is going to come down to re-balling the chip if I find a good replacement but is there any guarantee that it will work after that? Is the chip linked/tied to the PS3 uniquely?
