Mate their are no heatpads for the southbridge and I opened up 1 of my slims which I have never opened until now and same with that. So I'm gonna rule that out. What do you need pics of and I'll take some tomorrow when I have better lighting. I've checked all the fuses now and they all appear fine. Everything else looks in place around the nor chip so I'm guessing you are correct with cracked solder under the nor pins, which I think wouldv'e been caused by turning the micrometer a little to tight. If this is the case, can it be repaired?

good shots of the nor chip
so that we can zoom in and see the legs clearly
so a few shots at different angles
and a fine really fine soldering iron some flux and a steady hand to re-melt the solder if its cracked
then you need to take good pics again of the nor to check there is no solder bridges on the legs
btw it could still be a bad flash.
try putting the tristate to gnd and see if the ps3 halts instead of shutting down
