You need a power adapter w/ your enclosure, the USB on the PS3 will not provide enough power/amps. Your enclosure maybe your problem. This is what I have tested and works on PS3 for those whom may be interested. Seagate Backup Plus Model: STCA400100 4TB. In any case good luck gber911, dunno what else to tell ya.

I have a desk top 3tb hd western digital '' WCAWZ2824813 '' wich I try'd to format using swissknife on windows xp and using terminal on mac, its not an old pc hdd in a enclosure..All I was doing in my original post was telling my situation not SPREADING miss information as rude ron has said.
