My main point is that if you are the type of gamer that this matter so much, chances are you are just like the AVGN and have everything still hooked up or a dedicated room. The average/casual gamer probably does not care and guess what, they are the majority.
Mostly whats being said is aimed at the recent consoles from ps2 onwards i would imagine.

Show me a SCPH 10000 ps2 owned by an avid gamer bought at launch that is working 100% and I would be surprised. Show me a launch xbox 360 owned by an avid gamer that hasnt got RROD. Show me a CECHA 60GB launch working 100% and Id say that person is a lucky chap. Hell Im scared to even play this CECHC04 I just aquired the other day because Im worried its going to die without me doing a decent cooling mod to it.

They are not making their consoles up to the standards that they are meant to be used. That is the bottom line. Its almost as though ms and sony just stopped stress testing their consoles or something from the looks at the current gen of consoles because both launch models had insane failiure rates.

Its unacceptable. And the ONLY reason they get away with it is because the only two choices for hardcore gamers console wise, is a 360 or a ps3.
