Don't see any reason to doubt this chip, it's obviously driven by an ATMEL FPGA, for those who don't know what FPGAs are- they're reprogrammable chips, you can make almost any type of digital chip using an FPGA everything from memory to processors; it's not magic at all, although I don't see the point in making one expensive mod that "does it all" when you're only able to install it in one machine anyway, and I don't think it's all that tempting to unsolder the chip from your console each time you want to switch, it's much easier to just install a cheap mod in each instead.
