PS3 Hypervisor LV2 Method released by JaicraB

JaicraB has released his method on how he dumped the PS3 Hypervisor LV2. The method does require soldering and is not for the inexperienced. You can view the roughly translated tutorial below, but we bring you a much better English one as it is available.

LV2 extraction method translation

Hey guys, I translated it for you. It's better than Google translate, I promise.

PS3, lv2. How?
JaicraB-DemonHades extraction method

First of all, be careful if you're going to do it, we're not responsible for any damage.

The method is about keeping the RAM alive when switching to otherOS.
To accomplish this we have to feed the memory at all times, so when we reset our PS3 the RAM doesn't get deleted.

Overview Map:

Zone A
This area is sensitive. In this point we find two resistors together. It has to be extracted (take it off <dismount it>, or else you could cause a short circuit).
It has 4 pins. In this place, the integrated MOSFET indicates the RAM to turn off.

The goal is to take out the 2 resistors together and open the circuit so we can feed it apart.

Zone B
We get the feed from this area. You can put it anywhere on this track.

Zone C
In this area, a bridge has to be done so we can annul the two resistors.

Zone D
The exploit point.

Mini circuit:

Here's the technical part. It's possible that the first time you turn your PS3 on, you have to do it through the recovery menu.

I'll resume the next steps: Enter XMB, play, execute, configurate... It's all about filling it with information.
Play a game or a BD, etc.
Then switch to OtherOS, and dump the RAM with the exploit.

Remember:

The first 36 MB are the "Memory privilege", it contains lv0, lv1 and lv2. The rest of the memory are XMB residues (very interesting) and OtherOS data.
The next step would be to make a base linux system and do a complete dump. That way we'll get more XMB data and less residues.

If you want me to translate any other text from spanish to english, let me know
