anyone think we'll ever see ps2 emulation for non B/C ps3 games? i hate even typing his name but didnt geosnot get a non B/C ps3 to play ps2 games, or so he claimed? i'd pay good money to have that option. woulda bout a used console rather than this stripped down 80 gig i got now if the kid @ gamestop hadn't f'ed up & told me it would run ps2 games.

I'm really curious if you could actually play some games using this because I tried on 0.2 or 0.3 and I couldn't get any game to run further than a black screen... (I own a BC PS3 PAL if you're wondering)

Well theres nothing we can do about that, thats what Greg said.
we need some serious reverse engineering done, if they sorted out the speed issue, it would be great to to use, but until then, we are stuck at 1.0 speed (as thats the speed of the PS2 usb ports)

Increasing speed all depends upon the hardware you are using on the PS2 if you are using a Hard-drive that's usually USB powered or a Pen-drive it will always be choppy if you use an Externally powered USB hard-drive that is plugged in speeds are different. But overall SMB is alot better .

Ive tried both SMB and USB (twin usb) they both had the same results - not that good really.
