The PS3 will be four years old in November, since its day of release, it has packaged and sold its High Definition console with rubbish audio video cables, now its seems that they will at long last include a HDMI cable in its upcoming 250GB SKU, PlayStation Lifestyle reports that it will come with a 6FT HDMI cable and the GOTY edition of Little Big Planet, here is a quote from the site:

Apparently, new SKUs have hit certain retailers and now include an HDMI cable. Excellent, but better yet, that?s not the only other thing that?s now included. As if the 250GB PS3 SKU wasn?t already a great value, being only $50 more than the 120GB SKU and featuring double the HDD capacity. Now, the 250 SKU will be packed with a 6-foot HDMI cable and the Greatest Hits Game of the Year Edition of LittleBigPlanet, which is still one of the most highly-regarded titles of this generation. Here?s the kicker: it?s still only $349.99! Now when you purchase a 250GB PS3, you?ll be getting double the hard drive capacity over the 120GB SKU, which is still difficult to find in stores mind you, along with a PlayStation branded HDMI cable as well as a copy of LBP GOTY. i dont know about you but i have never paid over $5 for an hdmi cable that length so idk why they are saying it would cost you $50

They arnt, they are saying that the 250GB is only $50 more expensive than the 120GB, the $50 is in reference to the HDD space i think and not the HDMI cable.

They also say that the game and cable that come with the console are worth the difference in value between the SKU's.

My fatboy already came with a HDMI when I bought my 80GB HDD, and my PS3 is now 3 yrs. old. So's how's these a nee feature. My PS3 came from Blockbuster, and cost me 699.99 (USA).

Did it come with a branded Sony HDMI cable inside the box, or where you given it outside the box ?

I don't see the point about people complaining about the lack of an HDMI cable. They're dirt cheap anyway.

Probrably because you paid all that money for a HD capable product but cant use the full capability of the console till you buy a hdmi lead, which isnt on really, considering bluray players all come with a hdmi lead and they're half the price.
