He also released the simple USB logger which was something you could do with a simple grep operator on Linux.

the big thing is he managed to convince some key people around here that he had something worth talking about.

his code is about as much an exploit loader as, say, any blueray game that takes user input is.

I was tentative about SKFU before, he likes to talk him self up a hell of a lot. With this he has shown that not only does he not understand what an exploit loader is, he also has no comprehension of what a valid 'Hello World' poc would be.

The Blueray Drive emulation setup stems from another complete misunderstanding of how computer components work and interact.

Doing all this while at the same time dumping on geohot's frankly awesome work is just lame. How ever Geohot handled things afterwards is a valid topic for debate, and yes we're all waiting on a 'Keeper' of the CFW to emerge(eyes are on you Mathieulh).

The story behind the scenes is that there are a few people who have managed to dump the metldr and then assign it to an SPU which is then used to sign CFW. But you have to realise that there is no real reason to release this to the petty ps3 scene. Any one usually asking for the CFW is usually looking for an iso loader and a way that they can get what isn't theirs for free.

Until a persistent soft mod is found there will probably be no release.
Until a method is found to prevent sony from just patching the process there will be no release.

I consider most things SKFU talks about, worthwhile, whether it be his games loading off HDD or taking the p*** out of GeoHot, the reason i called it an exploit at the time is because i hadn't tried it and my main aim was to get news up as fast as possible, which is my role as a news editor.

I had a lot of respect for GeoHot, with what he had done, but i lost that due to his ignorance, my respect goes to the real guys from the scene, like Mathieulh, Disane and a couple of others, as far as CFW from Mathieulh, i dont think that will ever happen, he dosnt seem interested.

Simply this is not anything near an exploit.

The only reason this thing bears the title 0.1 is because it doesn't do anything at all. It's not even a proof-of-concept because there is nothing to prove other than replacing some image. Comon ..
