dont diss the guy for trying, being asked to stop 'or else' by $onys legal team or being paid off but i think it would be the latter, its human nature to want to learn everything about all thats around him/her so just because he's been asked to stop or hit a wall in his hacking of the ps3, this will not stop him from wanting to do it.

and i also think he would have got a nice job from this, if not from sony some other big named company would pick him up.

What kind of BS is that... linux on PS3 does run good enough so you can use it for a lot of stuff (if you are too lazy to turn on your PC or have you PC in a completely other room and just want to sit on the couch and do some stuff), if you are a programmer OtherOS is even more interesting as it is a great tool for getting the grips with the CELL proc (which itself is very powerfull) but also a good learning tool for multi'core' processing.. Also, as I mentioned earlier, people only started to get to know how to use the CELL better, because it's hard (especially without real guideance) to understand how to correctly code for the CELL.. Also one of the reasons why some coders weren't really up to speed, is because they are very much windows based, and the only SDK out for the CELL is crappy linux based, which makes it harder for someone who is used to SDK's working immediatly in their IDE to get the grips with the SDK itself..

But who cares how many people actually were using OtherOS, there were people using it, and they paid for OtherOS, and Sony just unnessecarely removed it (because hackers can still use it and find a way to circumvent OtherOS completely, which ofcourse is what a lot of people want)..
Personally I don't care about ISO's, I think the games are cheap enough (I can wait until the price it right for me (which is up to 15 euro's including postage, and even then it must be very special, otherwise I won't spend more than 10 euro's), also with illegal games you tend to have less interest in the game anyway.. The only reason why I'm looking forward to is for real homebrew stuff like emulators/scummvm (which btw ran perfectly under YDL)

not dissing him just saying i believe he hacked because he enjoyed the people fawning over him -_- but when he went into hacking the ps3 and it was taking longer people turned on him.

HONESTLY think about it if he would have left it alone we would probley still have the otherOS option good for him and everything with what he wants to do but... don't start something you can't finish and if you can't back up your mouth keep it shut he disses sony and didn't finish his job he looked stupid there he said he was gonna come out with a custom firmware and he didn't do that either once again he looks stupid.... like i said good for him and everything but don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk.... Disane, i do know what you're talking about but i brought what i said up because it happens from time to time in reality. that movie "catch me if you can" is about a counterfeiter/frauder who the fbi could not catch but in the end the counterfeiter now works for the fbi catching the people he once was, it is a true story.

and apple already tried to buy him off so maybe sony learned and upped the offer to something he couldn't refuse.
