if that was the case then they have taken a feature away again. because if i remember the booklet told me that there was only one screw that could be taken out that would not void the warranty. just so i could upgrade my HDD. if it is real and i can't upgrade my HDD i will filing right along the line of the other-os people because i have no other-os but i sure as hell want my hdd upgradeable. i ran out of room like 4 days after i got the ps3 took mine from 250g to 350g just so i could have music. it sounds like bs any ways

All in all, we should be thankful that this update does nothing...previous updates have bricked systems, removed features, and even broken the web browser (still not fixed).

As $n!pR has said this update is giving people problems installing new HDD's, i dont think any firmware has been problem free. |

Yeah...I just read about how they are blocking both hard drive upgrades and system repairs. It is a well known fact that their format tool WILL NOT format a drive unless the drive has nothing on it. Because of this, the only way to fix file system problems is to remove the drive, use a PC to wipe it, and then put it back into the system. Thanks to 3.41, this is no longer possible. I sure hope they fix this, as I have to go through this procedure 1-2 times per year, and if they are intentionally blocking my ability to repair their broken OS, then then there isn't much hope; even buying a new PS3 would only get me 6-12 months before the OS breaks and I have to go buy another one.
So, this is actually one of the worst updates yet...it might actually be more of a problem than the removal of OtherOS...first they removed Linux from the system, now they have crippled GameOS! If I can't use GameOS, and I can't use OtherOS, then this is just an ugly black bock with NoOS. |

Im not quite sure they will, from what i have been reading, Sony are saying that the HDD problem inst the Firmwares fault, they are blaming the upgraded HDD themselves, stating that you will have no problem updating if you use the stock HDD. |
