So it is theoretically possible for the code to be written to say a normal usb but we would still need the mcu? Dont shoot me for asking that question XD, im just trying to get a better understanding of this whole jig stick wizardry. ^_^

I'm not expert, but from what I've read out there, a regular usb flash drive will not work nor will it ever. I think it's because the ps3 speaks with the dongle and it has to answer appropriately. USB drives are not 'thinking' devices.

it seems our best bet is if someone (much smarter than I) codes an app to have a psp or other smart usb device to emulate the psjb.

enough people have already got the psp to do much more complicated actions, i think at this point, it's just a matter of figuring out what the psjb exploit is doing exactly and then replicating that via psp homebrew. unfortunately, the psp will probably have to stay plugged into the ps3 anytime you want to use it.

nop, nop, nop

this is the usb traffic between the psjailbreak device and ps3.
it contains the exploit code but it doesn't contain the binaries on the psjailbreak itself. i.e it won't let you clone the jailbreak but it will give the devs a great heads up on how to use the exploit and deliver it to the ps3 in different ways.

o ok, i wasnt sure. either way its still a good step forward how about the psp idea is the exploit contained in this traffic combined with enough time and somebody very smart enough to get us there?

Well the method for delivering the payload is know, and the payload itself is known. It is just a case of how the devs handle recreating it. There's talk of using psps, mcu's(psjailbreak hardware) even android/iphones.

Just hold on for a while and they will sort something out, meanwhile the rest of us can watch and learn.

i have a professor at my school who will look at the source programing in the usb dongle,he has like 5 phd's as far has Science degrees go,im pretty decent with my programming as well so once i get it i will post some results.
