[Tutorial] Motorola Droid PSJB Device Creator
I worked for around 4 hours on getting this to work on my phone and it took me ages.
You need the Android SDK installed to "C:\AndroidSDK" and have a Motorola Droid with Cyanogen Mod 6 installed and in recovery.
NOTE: Everytime you reboot your phone, you must redo the Terminal Emulator. (Step 7) This may take a few tries to get the PS3 into JB mode, but it does work. EDIT: IF THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR YOU, PLEASE POST AT WHAT PART YOU GOT STUCK ON SO I CAN FIX IT. THIS TUTORIAL IS ALL OFF OF MEMORY BUT SHOULD ALL BE CORRECT. Ha! You beat me to it man! I was working on a tut for this! Good job! :D
I also believe that if someone wanted to use a different kernel afterward... (Like me! ) You should be able to just make a nand backup of your PS3JB settings and then just advance backup the boot when you want to do it again. This would make it very quick and efficient every time you wanted to use your PS3 in Dev mode. I will try this later and let ya know how it works. ![]() ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Ok iBlackSunday. I made a backup on my phone of Before PS3JB and After PS3JB. If you advance restore from nandroid the Before boot then you know that your phone will be back to normal, but you do the one from After you don't have to use ADB after the initial phase! This will make using the Droid a lot more convenient!! :D Just thought you might want to add this to the tutorial! Last edited by ZanderCross; 09-09-2010 at 11:16 AM. |

I understand what you are saying but as of right now, I didn't even have to install a new ROM, I was on CM6 and all I had to do was the flashing of the boot image and run the command through Terminal Emulator. It was really damn simple for me, but took me forever to figure it out because the first tutorial was all jacked up, lol.

I just meant it might be useful for others that are using different kernels. I am using a 1.0Ghz kernel when not in "PS3 hack mode" lol. Also, for people that use the USB mass storage on their phones, unless they switch back to the old kernel they were using, they won't be able to use it. That is why I thought my idea might be a good add as an OPTIONAL step for users of different kernels and USB mass storage.
If none of the above apply to you or any user then what you said is fine, but for people that want the above capabilities or their phones "back to normal", my way is quicker than having to use ADB every time you want to reapply the boot.img. That's all I really meant.Edit: I didn't install a new rom either. I am using Bugless Beast v0.4 (Thanks Pete! ) with Chevyno1's 2.6.32 Low voltage 1.0Ghz kernel. It should work for most roms.
