Hi am very new to ps3 although I've had it for a year I played for a month.
I have a question for my piece of mind mostly for the love of snes and probably other new psgroove members.

1. Can game/disc updates update the ps3 firmware offline or online

2. When it says installing game data it's safe right

3. I've removed all update folder within the game folder so it don't prompt regarding game update is that safe.

it's been a year and I forgot how the ps3 worked, honestly I want to keep my jb.

Please note these are my own two games that I backed up

yes game disc updates can update your machine, although that can be bypassed and will be in the future.

yes it is safe, its the game that being installed to hdd, when the ps3 asks for a firmware update you will know.

Bruv thanks so much you don't know for 2days I didn't play my games apart from snes... So what do I do backed up the same games through ps3 to drive deleted them then from pc to ps3 just for the hell of it!!
