just to confirm that the psgroove doesnt work on the sansa e250 v2? Ive currently got Rockbox loaded/ working on it but the psgroove doesnt. I know it says v2 is not compatible, just wishful thinking cause I have tried but no ciggar. If anyone DOES manage to find a solution can you pls post it. If not I'll just have to find someother piece of hardware to port it to.

Cheers....

e260 success

I bought an e260 off ebay for $22 shipped. It says v2 on the back. I think the guy even mentioned it had firmware version 1.x. It didn't even check I immediately grabbed the latest rockbox let it detect my device. Did full install. Used the file named sana_psgroove.rar from id10terror (thanks!). Success.

This sometimes happens with refurbished or repaired e200's/c200's.. Let's say someone cracked their screen or broke the casing on their Sansa, but the internals weren't affected.. The tech probably has a box full of completely non-functional Sansa's just used for parts. Since the casing is the same they'll swap it in to the v2 case and sell it. I used to repair and sell mp3 players in the past and would do this myself. Sandisk even does this when they repair units under warranty.

So, the point of the story is to not trust the case of the Sansa if you are buying used. Make sure you check the version in the settings.

From the Rockbox wiki:
Look under Settings->Info - if Version has the format 01.xx.xx, the unit is a v1. All other indicators, such as markings on the casing or packaging, are unreliable due to SanDisk's practice of using the same values on different models.

The Clip/Fuze/c200v2/e200v2 are all not supported. A rockbox-psgroove install compiled specifically for another device will not work. I recommend you re-run the Rockbox installer to restore the original rockbox installation.
Try this: turn on your Sansa while holding the Back (or left) button. Once it loads into the original firmware, connect the usb and use the Rockbox installer to reinstall rockbox and it's bootloader.

If this does not work, then look at the Rockbox wiki to recover your device, although it's quite complicated if you have really bricked your device.
