cant cos it cuts off after around 1 minute after being plugged in
and thats what caused my usb's to break anyway, so i think it may be faulty

hmm, what about popping the pc open, and installing another harddrive giving you a second drive and then copying your files over.?

Yeah the only cure is by replacing the motherboard.
I think, from what i read on your description. It seems that the usb controller chip is damaged. It Cant be reapired. This is the same thing that will happend if you put 4port usb hub on laptop. Then plug all the usb port with usb powered device. Like flashdisk. Charge psp. Charge pda. Charge cellphone . Webcam. Usb wifi. Usb bluetooth. Plug all of them and you will get the exact same problem  Because that happened to my old nforce mobo. I plug external hdd. Usb bluetooth. Charge my cellphone and when i plug my card reader. . BAM ! Pc restart itself and all .y usb port broken lolos
