Ok so I followed your instructions and I would like to say, this is a simple programer to make, good job.. I was able to erase my clone, set the fuses and load the autoDFU hex you shown, but what now, still can not program it with flip or anything else i have tried. should i be loading the payload hex via ISPprogramer software used in your tutorial ???
Sorry forgot to state, yes after using the ISP programer software and the hex you stated the device works 100% but I can load it with out the LPT port, can we still not update via USB and FLIP ? Last edited by frankdux; 11-30-2010 at 07:36 AM. |

Good topic
, some question still though..... ModThatGame:[strike]Do we still need to connect USB to supply Vcc +5V DC ?[/strike] re-read: yes of course ![]() Does autoDFU mean we should be able to update it via USB (with Atmel's FLIP) after the psgroove_at90usb162_16MHz_autoDFU HEX is flashed with the ISP method from the startpost? (if so, what is going wrong @ frankdux? or is there a specific way to get in DFU modus?) For completeness (so anyone with another dongle but with same chip can use this guide as reference): Are the solderpads you use connected to AT90USB162 (32-pin TQFP / 32-pin QFN) ? : - pin 24 (RESET) - pin 16 (MOSI) - pin 29 (SCK) - pin 17 (MISO) To BULLDOGG: Look a 14pin PIC to me, don't use this Atmel-only guide, but use Microchips PIC software and datasheets as a reference instead. To obex: NO, see above sentence. Last edited by euss; 11-30-2010 at 11:32 PM. |

Relevant PIC datasheet: http://www.mqp.com/pdf/apnotes/isppic.pdf Possible software to use for ISP PIC: http://members.aon.at/electronics/pic/picpgm/ Circuits usable for ISP PIC: http://members.aon.at/electronics/pi.../hardware.html I rather not want to spoil this >100 uC Atmel thread with specific >100 uC Microchip PIC only issues. If you wish to resolve this issue, I think you/we're way better of in a Microchip PIC only thread (to prevent crosstalk on >200 microcontrollers which are non interexchangable). So I can update to any hex I wan no problems using your TUT and programer, but what is the AutoDFU all about, I can not get it to program by USB, the tutorial states that it restores the bootloader ???? i have done everything 100% and the fuses, I know it all works cus Rogero 7.2 show me Hermes Payload now. but still no USB programing.... did I miss something |

I'm just looking for answers and verification myself (as I don't have the dongle in the startpost). It seems we both are either missing something or misreading things and looking for the same answers. ![]() edit: correction, this guide was orignally from: http://www.elotrolado.net/hilo_gu-a-programar-at90usb162-sin-bootloader-clon-barato_1511537 DFU is an acronym for Device Firmware Upgrade, of which you can readup on http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/USB_DFU or for Atmel specific: http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/p...ts/doc7618.pdf Whatever Rogero (MultiMAN can show this too) is telling you, is the CURRENT payload of the USB JB Device. So, if you had Rogero telling you before you used this guide you had a different payload, then it is proven that the chip is updated correct. AutoDFU (at least the DFU implemented in the supplied HEX) is still unclear to me too (if it needs an special sequence like the PS3Key proprietary dongles, specific VID/PID added to DFU driver, adding a button etc.) If you wish to crosscheck (e.g. having same dongle as startpost with at90usb162 and succesfull in ISP updating the dongle), this thread is about PS3YES dongle, but as that dongle have the exact same microcontroller and clockspeed afaik, the DFU enabled HEX should be 100% compatible : http://psx-scene.com/forums/f178/at9...-ps3yes-66350/). As alternative, the following are all AT90USB162 based: PS Jailbreak (the 1st one), Atmel ATAVRUSBRF01, Benito Board, BlackCat USB, Bumble-B v1, Maximus AVRUSB 1.0, Maximus AVRUSB 1.2, Micropendous-162, Minimus AVR USB/Minimus 32, Nano USB Dev, Olimex, OpenKubus (a)AT90USB162, PS3opendous AT90USB162, Teensy 1.0, UDIP-16, USBTINYMKII, P3 HUB 1, PS3 Break v1.0 (AVR), PS3YES!, PS3YES! Pro. Please make sure the clockfrequency is correct (16 MHz in startpost, but some mentioned could be 8 MHz, i've removed the 8 MHz models as much as I possibly could). If anyone needs DFU driver: http://www.multiupload.com/CAYDZA7HAI (Atmel DFU drivers for AT32UC3C, ATxmega128A1U, ATmega8U2, ATmega16U2, ATmega32U2, AT32UC3A3, ATmega32U6, ATmega16U4, ATmega32U4, AT32UC3B, AT90USB82, AT32UC3A, AT90USB64, AT90USB162, AT90USB128, AT89C5130/AT89C5131, AT8XC5122, AT89C5132/AT89C51SND1/AT89C51SND2) ModThatGame: please don't forget my and frankdux' older questions in this thread
