App to Write to dev_flash
Yes, CFW seems that much closer now. It seems that Jaicrab and ps3mrenigma have teamed up and produced an app that allows writing to dev_flash.

My jaw dropped when I saw that hint at the bottom. What else could it mean besides that Dark_Alex is in on it?
Long live DA! This is so awesome!

Confused
I am a tad confused about this. I had thought that we could already load firmware off a USB drive successfully (at least a large portion of us can :P). We can alter the files on it and load up our own modified XMB for example.
I guess I am asking, what does this change? It seems like now we are able to write to dev_flash, but if we are unable to edit the .rco files on a USB drive, what makes us think that this will lead to CFW in dev_flash? Unless there are limits to USB firmware loading. Any information would be nice, thanks.

I was thinking the exact same thing, still though - once we can edit these files and get into the nitty-gritty, atleast we can permanently modify them.

Yeah, I thought about the Alejandro thing. After all Dark_Alex was Spanish too... I was wondering if he would try out some PS3 hacking.

I couldn't find the original from which this article was translated for you to quickly do a better translation - I tried but I'm rushing to get to work just now. However even without seeing it I STRONGLY suspect ", IF it has writing permissions." was originally "Sí tiene permiso para escribir" - it should carry an accent (but laziness means not everyone writes it). The reason that is important is it completely changes the meaning to something more like "DOES have writing permissions" or "REALLY/ACTUALLY DOES have writing permissions" - no "if" about it! however I'd rather read the original spanish just to be on the safe side as I'm inferring from the mistakes in translation.
