I've been researching this issue constantly in preparation of my own downgrade and it seems the real solution is that, people who can boot to the XMB with no hard drive installed don't lose bluray capabilities, and people who can't do. Source: http://psx-scene.com/forums/629522-post2820.html So chances are your system was just one of the ones that could boot without the hard drive in. (Haven't tested mine yet because I don't know if booting without the hard drive then reinserting it forces a format.) |
