Psh...

actually, there is turning back.
Haha, I guess. Kinda meant that theres no "Press to reset" and that the ps3 wont be too happy about a corrupted flash, and neither will the user. I have corrupted my stuff before and its not too fun.

To add.. Back up your PS3 HD AND Test it first.

Just.... KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING KIDDOS! If you dont know what the flash is/does or associate the word with flash drive, dont mess with it.

Mah rant is over.

This is a quick translation of the main post from the page that someone linked for me above (quick as I have a report due for tomorrow and am doing an alnighter so shouldn't actually be translating things - but it's amazing the amount of energy one gets when there are tasks to avoid doing!)

Some time ago our friend JaiCraB commented on some studies of service mode which in the end weren't believed by many users of "X" communities, it is for this that he has been working together with ps3mrenigma to bring you a DHorg exclusive - his new homebrew called "Alejandro"

Alejandro is a homebrew [program] that permits the mounting of dev_flash and gives you write permissions. What this homebrew does is dismount [the dev flash] and mount the new dev_alejandro...enabling editing of your files (new modules, initial sound, startup video, etc) from whatever manager or ftp client, leaving persistant files (debug options for example)

Prerequisites: Have a payload which supports syscall 6/7 (peek and poke)

So then in summery... Alejandro enables writing to flash....so that you will have to be cautious not to delete parts of the firmware or you'll end up with a nice little brick!
Also we inform you that it was 100% created using the free SDK, and as such its distribution on the internet is completely legal.

This is a step closer to CF, because you can all save new executable files internally that will be able to be launched.

Let's remember that neither JaiCraB nor ps3mrenigma or DHorg take responsibility for the improper use of this tool.

A big thank you to my good friends JaiCraB and ps3mrenigma on behalf of the DHorg community.
Note that this does not appear to be the thread originally haphazardly translated on the front page here but I couldn't find that one....

In the post above which I translated (the original post from DHorg translated on a member's request) you'll see that a payload that supports syscalls 6/7 (peak & poke) is the requirement. :-) :-D
