deanrr is forever improving his awesome program for the PS3, the popular multiMAN, it does, PS3 backups, ftp, filemanager, images, hex reading, MP3's and now he has added PS2 backup support, it is still in the experimental stage, but deanrr is on the way, to having a complete Media Center for the PS3:

01.11.05 - * Fixed mount points reset on launch * Added experimental support for PS2 game backups * Other minor fixes

A quote from deanrr:

For those of you who wish to experiment with PS2 backups: 1) Proper category_game_tool2.xml required to enable PS2 disc icon in XMB/GAME column in jailbreak mode 2) Original PS2 game required 3) Original PS3 game required 4) PS2 backup extracted in one of the folders where multiMAN looks for games (usually with your PS3 backups) 1) Reboot your PS3 in JB mode 2) Put original PS3 disc 3) Launch multiMAN and mount your PS2 game backup 4) Replace the PS3 disc with original PS2 disc 5) PS2 disc icon should appear in GAMES column. Try to launch it. Dean

Yea, thanks for leaving out pertinent information. Like the PS3 has to be one with compatibility to play PS2 Games. And will not work on a Slim PS3

I have a PS2 this is not a very important thing for me...
But good work pal!
It would be the VERY BEST and extremely COMPLETE if you (the creator of the MultiMAN) could put a AVI, MKV and other formats of video with srt and other type of subtitles working on PS3 without any modification...

If you going to report something, report everything, not bits and pieces...

Someone may think that it's some form of emulation...

I don t remember reading that a PS2 emulator was released.....

Oh and don't tell me how to post, if you are too stupid to realise that this is only for BC consoles, then you have no standing.

You shouldn't assume...that the general public has the same knowledge as you.....or follows the emulators, which ones are released and which ones aren't as someone who is reporting the news, you should lay all the cards out on the table

does this give you multi region ps2 backup playback cos i have a jap bc ps3 and was wondering of this would help me to play my uk ps2 backups.

Nothing better then trying and see by your self!
This is a in tests and actually, the creator, dean, can't test it!
Test it and if works(or not) report the result here!
