Hey, I'm interested in using this to un-demo my demo-PS3 that I bought off e-bay, and use as my spare PS3 - so far I've been using the security codes to unlock it whenever I want to play games. Basically, my question is if it is possible to jailbreak a demo unit so it's no longer a demo...?

so i have installed geos cfw 3.55jb no probs installed the mednafen.pkg and snesx9.pkg no prob once i start any of them the screen goes black and just stays black i was on fw 3.50 then upgraded to 3.55 to install geos cfw 3.55jb any tips to get the emus working

Just wondering, would having a OFW HDD and a CFW HDD be possible? Just in case Sony can somehow detect this sometime down the line.

I'm asking this because I heard the PS3 slim stores some of the firmware on HDD.

So, far have succeeded to jb my ps3 using the usb exploit and have tried the much anticipating snes9 emulator.

I have 1 question about transfering ps3 games using ftp method ! Do i need windows or linux or os2 ftp client ?

EDIT: Crap , i wos under the impression installing Geos CFW woud jb my ps3 just in the same way (more or less) it has been done whit the psp already !!! ... argh wishfull thinking!!

The more i read about this, the more iam convinced you still need to buy a jailbreak device !!!

I tried to install it like the tut said, but after my PS3 downloaded the update, it beeped 5 or 6 times and then shut down. When i turned it back on, I went to System Information and saw that it still says "3.55". Is that supposed to change to "3.55-jb"? Did it work or did I break it?

Iam asking myself the same thing here.. But given the fact i have installed the snes9x package and played some games on it , is proof that the ps3 is partially broken

There are so many loose ends regarding this "CFW" (and i emphasize the quotes )

I realy thought my ps3 woud be totaly Jailbroken installing Ghots CFW !!
But i understand the precautions given this "early" stage.

Ps3 has been arround for only a decade or so by now lol
